The main shapes of surfboards are longboards, mini-mals, fish, shortboards and hybrids of these shapes. In most countries, surfing instructors are required to be accredited coaches through the governing body for that country.
It's a great way to test out surfing, and make sure it's an activity you would like to pursue before you put a lot of money into it.
