where did surfing originate

In the early 80's thru out the late 90's hawaii was the surfing mecca in the pacific and established itself as the capital of surf junkies world wide. The popularity of surfing starting growing in the1960's when movies like Gidget and Beach Blanket Bingo, which exposed the rest of the world to a sport only known to locals who were lucky enough to live near the beach.

If you don t have a good friend who is a surfer then you will be able to find help at your local surf shop, or by making your first couple of ventures into the water with a surf instructor. That would be horrible to have to carry a piece of wood down the beach until you got to your spot and then you jump in the water and the water just water logs the wood surfboard that is the main reason why I can see why people changed the surfboard. Spring suits give greater freedom, as the sleeves only come down to just above the elbow.

This inspired many photographers, filmmakers and surfers to continue documenting the sport, culminating with is arguably the best surf movie of all time, 1963 s Endless Summer, by Bruce Brown. The soft construction of the board ensures you don't get hurt during the spills while you still enjoy the thrills. It is where everyone starts, even Kelly Slater or Andy Irons.

Of course, anyone who wants to master more than the basics can sign up for a few more surfing lessons. Respect the locals if you are visiting a beach.
