big wave surfing surfing guide

The summer days are approaching, and maybe you're thinking about learning how to surf to get out there in the water. It took me years to learn what good surfing instruction from an experienced coach can teach you in hours today.

Softboards are ideal for surfing newbies because they provide the best buoyancy and stability for beginners learning how to surf. Safety, surf etiquette, positioning yourself for the perfect ride, and getting acquainted with your surfboard and what you need to know first. Unless you choose the right equipment to match your level you are just adding to the difficulty.

It's a great way to test out surfing, and make sure it's an activity you would like to pursue before you put a lot of money into it. In case you don't know, a mal is short for malibu which is a long board with a rounded nose, usually around 9 ft long. The second type of a wipeout and without a doubt the most horrific is going over the falls, this is from not having enough paddling speed to catch the wave early enough, getting sucked up the face and pitched over with the lip.

San Diego surfing, around Encinitas and La Jolla is also incredible. So your fully decked out in your wettie, got your board and it's all waxed up and ready to go!
