surfing safari

Surfing is a popular and fun activity to enjoy the warm, long days of summer, but it can be a little intimidating if you don't know the first thing about it. Don't go and paddle out the back until you have mastered the whitewater.

You can ditch your board, paddle over the top, dive early or try to paddle under the lip. In the 1930s, the sport of surfing was experiencing a Renaissance. So let's just take a quick look at a few boards, what they are designed for, and who should buy them.

Everyone wants to ride a cool looking short board, but for learning to surf you should try and find yourself a longer board. Longboards were originally the only type of surfboard available, and an entire generation learned to do some pretty radical things while handling these gigantic boards. People often react very badly to being dropped in on.

Being a beginner at any sport can be a little intimidating, but if you go to a local surfing school to get started, it can help save you time, money, and embarrassment. You can learn to stand on a board and catch a small wave in a day, or work on form, style and ocean awareness with surfing legends over the space of several days to a week or more.
