hawaii surfing

These are the guidelines you should always follow while surfing. Duke Kahanamoku, an Olympic star in swimming, popularized the sport further by traveling internationally and showing off his surfing style to thrilled audiences around the world.

Have a couple of lessons first, maybe try a few different surfboards of various shapes and sizes, and then think a little more about what board is best for you. I suggest you find a good surf school and take classes with an experienced instructor.

Always follow the rules. In most countries, surfing instructors are required to be accredited coaches through the governing body for that country. As soon as you break the surface, get back on your surfboard and paddle like crazy.

You can also find soft top boards which are even more ideal. Stretch your neck, put your chin near the deck of your surfboard, and hurl your every thought and inspiration down the face of the wave as you paddle. The general rule is, the surfer closest to the breaking part of the wave has control of the wave.

Now, get out there. Respect the locals if you are visiting a beach.
