surfing

The two main components of surfing are paddling out and dropping in. You just get out past the break and you sit on your board until you see a wave coming and then when you start to see waves coming you just get ready to start paddling and then you try and throw yourself into the wave and try to stand up.

You can ditch your board, paddle over the top, dive early or try to paddle under the lip. Southern California offers some of the best surfing in the USA.

You can find a private surf instructor by simply searching the internet for a surf instructor in the area in which you want to learn how to surf, they will surely be knowledgeable about all regional beaches and together you will choose the surf break best suited for you. Short sleeved wetsuits are commonly known as spring suits and long sleeved are commonly called steamers. The deeper you can get under the wave, the safer you will be from the force of the breaking wave.

The second type of a wipeout and without a doubt the most horrific is going over the falls, this is from not having enough paddling speed to catch the wave early enough, getting sucked up the face and pitched over with the lip. Also, wetsuits are often provided with your sessions, but you can always have your own. Another great thing to do is to practice sitting on your board when your in the water.

The type of board you will want to find should fit your skill level, your height, and the type of boarding experience you want to have. Best of all, there are definitely places to find instructors and lessons at a great price.
