surfing dvds

For anyone considering taking up Surfing as their latest sport, the thought of your first day at the beach and your first attempts at catching waves can be a very intimidating thought. The two main components of surfing are paddling out and dropping in.

Don't under estimate the kids who are most likely 8 year old to mid teens, its amazing how young these kids start surfing waves. I suggest you find a good surf school and take classes with an experienced instructor.

There are many things to learn starting out, like terminology, safety precautions and surfing etiquette. In most countries, surfing instructors are required to be accredited coaches through the governing body for that country. You will be amazed at how much instruction, with text, images, and video, you can find online.

I also recommend a leg-rope, because sooner or later your going to need one, and you don't want to be chasing your board around all the time when you could be catching more waves. If you re a little more serious about your surfing, or want the complete surfing experience in the hands of a true professional, there are many professional, ex-professional surfers who can guide your development as a surfer and help you to get the most out of your surfing experience. It may seem easier to jump up on one knee first, but this is not ideal.

Taking surfing lessons will not only inform you of the basics of your new hobby, but it will also help you progress faster than you would trying to go out there and self-teach. Be sure to get wax for your water temperature, as otherwise the wax can melt off or become slippery.
