baja surfing

Many surf schools will provide equipment for you to learn with. The first thing you will need is the right equipment.

Longboards are more stable than shortboards, and catch waves with less effort on the part of the beginner surfer. Surfboards come in a range of styles and sizes and also have different manufacturing processes. Perfect for the person who likes the feel of a longboard but wants more maneuverability.

The techniques. how to paddle, getting into the lineup, how to get up on your board, how to ride a wave, duck-diving, plus so much more. There are midsize boards, often called funboards, which will give you the best of both worlds. It is the only place where surfers can find waves from 25-50 feet in the winter outside of Hawaii.

Practice makes Perfect. Respect the locals if you are visiting a beach.
