couch surfing

Do you live in California and want to surf? Duke Kahanamoku, an Olympic star in swimming, popularized the sport further by traveling internationally and showing off his surfing style to thrilled audiences around the world.

I suggest you find a good surf school and take classes with an experienced instructor. After you candidly rate your skill level, you can start narrowing down the type of board that will work with your skill level and help bring you to the next level. Safety, surf etiquette, positioning yourself for the perfect ride, and getting acquainted with your surfboard and what you need to know first.

You must always be aware of other surfers and water users, the surf conditions, and of where you are surfing. The surfing sport started on longboards, and hanging ten on a longboard is way of life for many surfers. Practise is the key to surfing, and where many beginners fail.

Generally the better the surfer the smaller their board in length, width and thickness. Do not go out too far, even if you are a confident swimmer.
