The local surfers out on the waves can lose their patience with newbies who don't know the rules and big surfing no no's. What started out as the sport of kings and was practiced mostly by men has exploded to include women and young girls in increasing numbers.

There are even surf clothing and surfboard manufacturers who cater specifically to women. Surfing while drunk is not a good idea. They were later made from lighter wood and wood soon become made out of fiberglass and epoxy.

Paddling well takes some time to learn but you need to do it. Longboards were originally the only type of surfboard available, and an entire generation learned to do some pretty radical things while handling these gigantic boards. This is the best way to fast-track your surfing and have you ripping out the back in no-time.

Don't make the mistake of eating and surfing. And don't be afraid to ask the sales people in surf shops or other surfers about their experiences with different boards so you can make the most informed decision.
